Co-op- Building Progress Update
Construction of the new store continues to make good progress, with the building now really taking shape.
From 25 May, the developer will be carrying out the water mains connection works. This will require a partial road closure on Fountain Road, close to the zebra crossing, for up to two weeks. It’s recognised that there is already traffic disruption elsewhere in the town, but this work is unavoidable and will be completed as quickly as possible.
Due to some construction complications, the store opening has been slightly delayed and is now anticipated for early autumn. The developer and Co‑op will confirm an opening date once there is greater certainty. It’s expected to be a high‑quality new store that will be well worth the wait.
